My Old Canon Gear

My Canon gear was getting a little dated. I could have kept it all and slowly moved to a new system, but I decided to get whatever value I could get out of my old gear and put that towards a new system. After I decided to #GetOlympus I went to my local camera store B&C Camera during a trade-in event and make the switch. It was a very exciting day. I believe in supporting local camera stores over online stores especially for things like this. I appreciate having a local camera stores to visit and try out gear, online stores just aren't the same. Support your local camera store. I also like visiting book stores and I still support my local used book store Amber Unicorn.

Going Mirrorless

I wanted to get into mirrorless technology and looked at all the camera vendors to see what my options were. They all have their pros and cons. I also followed the advice I give people. Decide what your budget is and get the right tool for the job. After analyzing everything I decided Olympus met all my needs.

It's All New & Exciting Again

I've had my new system for almost a year now and I'm very happy with it. It's definitly been a learning curve and I learn new features about my Olympus everyday. If you've been doing the same thing for a long time it gets kind of old and stale. That's how I felt with my old gear. It wasn't fun and exciting anymore. It was a job. I only wanted to take my camera out if I was getting paid and I didn't take photos for fun anymore. I wanted to feel like I did when I first started doing photography. When you burn the bridges behind you there's no retreating, you're forced to move forward and that's exactly what I did. It's easy to just keep doing the same old thing and stay in your comfort zone. What can you change in your life today?
